I am a Swedish jewellery designer who chose to pause, reconstruct and change the scope of my work,
when my family needed more time with me.
My company, Annika Sjölén Design Ab, designed its own jewellery brand called annika.
The shop and workshop were situated for 20 years at Mariatorget, Stockholm Sweden.
annika sold at department stores including Barneys, Joyce, Paul Smith,NK and independent boutiques across the world.
Sweden, Norway and Japan were the main markets.
The brand suited all ages and people with passion and happiness for life. My design is modern and unique with
mixed media such as gold, sterling silver, diamonds, precious stones, glass beads, wood beads and leather.
The label included earrings, necklaces, bracelets, belts, pendants and brooches.
Two collections were produced per year with a 100 pcs per collection. These related to the fashion seasons of spring and fall.
I have been commissioned as a jewellery and an accessory designer for several clothing companies in Sweden.
The collections for annika and the freelance assignments were produced in Thailand, India, Hungary, Italy and Sweden.
I also designed custom made wedding rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings and objects for private clients.
My jewellery has been exposed by music artists, actors, television hosts and business people, shown in advertising and music
videos. My design has been exhibited at fashion fairs, shows, galleries and published in magazines globally.
I was nominated for Elle magazine prize in the category: Fashion and accessory designer of the year.
Freelance assignments:
I designed jewellery and accessories such as bags, belts and interior design objects. I was also responsible for the management
of the production for the jewellery.
